We can’t wait to work in this wonderful community and help the expanding number of homeowners in Owasso find their forever home. Owasso, Oklahoma is a growing and thriving city on the north side of Tulsa. It has an emerging population of young professionals and young families, and it’s easy to see why. There are plenty of reasons home buyers love Owasso!

5 Reasons to Live in Owasso, Oklahoma

  1. Big City Resources, Small Town Feel

Owasso is a northern suburb of Tulsa, meaning that people in Owasso get the best of both worlds: it only takes a short drive to get to all of the amenities of a big city, but Owasso still has its own unique identity and small-town feel. Many Owasso residents commute to Tulsa for both work and play. Want to see a show in downtown Tulsa or catch a game at the ONEOK field? It’s only about a 20-minute drive! But Owasso is also its own city with parks, recreation center, art and music venues, and local businesses and restaurants.

  2. Quality of Life in Owasso

In 2019, Owasso was ranked sixth best city to live in Oklahoma by ChamberofCommerce.org. This ranking was based on employment, housing, quality of life, education and health. Owasso has a low unemployment rate and a young population, with the average age being 33.5. The city is steadily growing at 1,000-1,2000 residents annually. Owasso’s average household income is higher than the national average, so “lower expenses mean wages go farther than in other parts of the U.S. Owasso’s cost of living is 6% less than the national average.” (ChooseOwasso). In short, Owasso’s growing economy, proximity to Tulsa, amenities, and rich community make it an increasingly desirable location.

  3. Owasso has Great Public Schools

In 2019 Owasso was ranked #3 in top school districts in the state by backgroundchecks.org. It is ranked the #2 school district in the Tulsa area by Niche.com for its excellent academic record, 19-1 teacher-student ratio, high-achieving sports and activities, and facilities. The district is made up of Owasso High School (go Rams!), the 8th Grade Center, 7th Grade Center, 6th Grade Center, and eight elementary schools.

  4. Owasso is a Safe City

Owasso is consistently ranked and described as a safe city, even being ranked No.1 Safest City in Oklahoma in 2017 by Safehome.org. Owasso has a lower crime rate than the Oklahoma average and takes pride in its community-oriented police department. Owasso is known as being a family-friendly city with safe places and activities for children of all ages.

  5. Owasso has a Competitive Housing Market

In April of 2020 Owasso was ranked 8th in a study by SmartAsset in a list of the top 10 healthiest housing markets in Oklahoma. The study measured the “average number of years residents spend in homes, home values, the ease of selling a home and the costs associated with homeownership in each location… Stability, affordability, fluidity and risk of loss” were also taken into account (Tulsa World). It is an increasingly competitive market, and there’s no better time to be a home seller or buyer in Owasso. That’s why Forever Home Inspection now has an Owasso home inspector and is ready to help you with all of your home inspection needs!
