Termite Inspection
Unbiased Discovery + ODAFF Report
What is a Termite Inspection?
Wood-destroying insects, such as termites, can cause significant issues in a home's wooden structural components. Anywhere wood touches soil is a possible entry into a home for termites. Indications of termite activity can be termite wings on window sills or in cobwebs, and shelter tubes, which are tunnels constructed by the termites from soil or wood and debris.
It is common for termites to go undetected for long periods, but most of the time, termites are discoverable before they cause significant damage to the property. Having a professional do a thorough inspection for termites is in the best interest of just about every home buyer.
Yes! Every inspector on our team is certified as both a home inspector and a termite inspector. We provide an ODAFF report following every inspection. ODAFF 1 is the official termite and wood-destroying insect inspection report.
Do You Provide an ODAFF 1 Report?
ODAFF 1 is the official termite and wood destroying insect inspection report.
Yes! Every inspector on our team is certified as both a home inspector and a termite inspector. We provide an ODAFF 1 report with all of our home inspection services.
Do you provide an Odaff 2 Report?
We DO NOT provide an ODAFF 2 report, here’s why:
As of January 2020, the ODAFF office neither recognizes this report nor provides access to this form to inspectors. The purpose of this form WAS to validate that the recommendations made by a termite inspector were performed per the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture (ODAFF).
ODAFF has changed the process of confirming follow-up treatments. Now the tradesperson performing the repairs is tasked with validating the work in writing to the client.
Should a home buyer need this report for lending purposes, ODAFF instructs those buyers to contact the company who performed the service to request documentation confirming the completed treatment or repair. ODAFF has stated that there are no requirements or guidelines for this documentation process.
Do You Provide a Treatment Plan or Perform Treatment Plans if WDO are Discovered?
No. We will inspect for termites and other wood destroying insects, but we do not provide a plan of treatment or treatment, itself.
We refer treatment out to a number of termite companies. Our goal is to provide a convenient and unbiased termite inspection.
