Blacksmith Roofing is one of Forever Home Inspection’s preferred vendors for customers in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. The professionals at Blacksmith know how important- yet how difficult- it can be to find trustworthy roofing contractors. To help customers, they’ve created this video below. At Forever Home Inspection, we value all of these same traits in real estate professionals, and these values are instilled in our entire team of home inspectors: integrity, expertise, thoroughness, kindness, and drive. We hope these tips will help you in your search!

5 Signs of a Good Roofing Contractor

  1. If your contractor has sent you a proposal or contract

A professional roof contractor will create a detailed item list and a proposal or contract as you figure out the plan for your roof. This is a sign of a contractor who is experienced, detail-oriented, thorough, a good planner, and transparent.

  2. Your contractor is properly licensed

Make sure your contractor shows you a copy of their license, and it’s from a legitimate source.

  3. Support Local Contractors

Getting recommendations from friends, or trusted referrals from other businesses (like Forever Home Inspection!) can help you find contractors that have a positive reputation and a stake in the community they serve. Check out their customer reviews as further proof of their quality.

  4. A roofing contractor should be able to navigate insurance

A sign of a good contractor is if they can deal with different insurance policies. Check if their website offers any information on insurance or financial plans and pay attention to how the contractor talks about the financial side. Do they seem assured and confident in the process? Knowledgable?

  5. A good roofing contractor doesn’t pressure you

No one likes a pushy salesman! Don’t let a roofing contractor pressure you or try to force you into paying for items or repairs. A real professional will advise your decision-making process but not present themselves as the only solution or try to trick you into making unnecessary repairs or purchases. A good contractor has integrity and is looking out for the customer’s best interest.
